The Institute–is South Carolina’s leading economic development education program. The Institute serves to educate those who support and participate in economic development activities in their communities while providing unique and innovative development approaches for implementation in local communities. Practitioners and academicians make up the faculty. They focus on the knowledge and tools that will help South Carolina compete in today's challenging economic development environment. The Institute consists of four sessions each year, each session covering a different aspect of economic development. Graduates receive a certificate for attending and successfully completing all four sessions.
