Ferroglobe establishing first South Carolina operations in Marlboro County

COLUMBIA, S.C.Ferroglobe, a global producer of silicon metal, today announced it is establishing its first South Carolina operations in Marlboro County. The company’s $20 million investment will create 19 new jobs.

With 25 operations globally, Ferroglobe produces silicon metal and other silicon-based alloys for critical products such as aluminum, solar cells, semiconductors and batteries.

DCC Metal Recycling grows South Carolina footprint with new operation in Dillon County

COLUMBIA, S.C.DCC Metal Recycling (DCC), a metal shredding and recycling company, today announced it is growing its South Carolina footprint with a new operation in Dillon County. The company’s $11 million investment will create 78 new jobs. 

Founded in Hemingway in 1943, DCC purchases, shreds and recycles scrap metals. This process significantly reduces the cost and environmental impact of the company’s products which include aluminum, stainless steel and copper.

Matica Group establishing first North American manufacturing operations in Spartanburg County

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Matica Group (Matica), a global identity and payment solutions provider, today announced it is establishing its first North American manufacturing operation in Spartanburg County. The company’s $2 million investment will create 40 new jobs.

Headquartered in Switzerland, Matica designs, manufactures, and markets payment and identity systems. The company has 200 employees and 11 facilities worldwide, including a technology support office in Greenville County.

COLUMBIA, S.C.Leonardo DRS, through its subsidiary, DRS Naval Power Systems, today announced it selects Berkeley County to establish the company’s first South Carolina operation. The company’s approximate net investment of $120 million is expected to create 58 new jobs. 

Leonardo DRS is a leading provider of defense products and technologies. Its subsidiary, DRS Naval Power Systems, provides naval power and control technology solutions for the U.S. Navy and allied navies, and for commercial applications.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Tomahawk Processing LLC (Tomahawk Processing) today announced that it will establish meat processing operations in Laurens County. The company’s investment of $5 million will create 26 new jobs.

Tomahawk Processing will build a state-of-the-art, U.S. Department of Agriculture-inspected processing plant that will provide beef processing and packing services. It will also provide private label packaging, allowing producers to sell products publicly in South Carolina and other states.
