S.C. Commerce recently teamed up with Milliken to host the first Regional Recycling Matchmaker event in Spartanburg. The forum brought together more than 100 manufacturers and recycling stakeholders from across the state to discuss ways to advance South Carolina’s recycling industry.
The networking event encouraged collaboration between companies to find markets for hard-to-recycle materials and emphasized a regional approach to recycling. Additionally, in a lunch keynote address, Milliken’s Sustainable Development Manager Paul Kearns spoke about the company’s work in expanding the scope of traditional recycling efforts.
This event was the first of three the S.C. Commerce Recycling Market Development team plans on hosting. The group works diligently to advance and grow recycling initiatives and industry in South Carolina while improving sustainability.
