South Carolina knows what drives automotive success. The state’s reputation as an automotive powerhouse began to develop in the mid-1970s when European heavyweights Michelin and Bosch established operations in S.C. Two decades later, BMW joined the state’s business community, transforming the way South Carolina is viewed worldwide. Today, the Palmetto State is a global leader in automotive manufacturing – home to some of the world’s biggest brands.
To showcase South Carolina’s pro-business environment and continue to build relationships with top names in the auto industry, S.C. Commerce led a delegation to the International Motor Show (IAA Mobility) in Munich, Germany last week. The show highlighted the latest emerging technologies within the industry, unveiled future trends and was a forum to create business relationships. Team S.C. also had the opportunity to connect with prospect companies and those already operating within South Carolina.
The automotive industry fuels economic growth across South Carolina, and by continuing to foster business relationships with auto companies from around the world, Team S.C. will accelerate into the future.
