Walmart’s newest distribution center is officially open for business in Dorchester County. The $220 million, 3 million-square-foot facility, located in Ridgeville, will supply several regional distribution centers supporting approximately 850 Walmart stores and Sam’s Clubs across South Carolina and beyond.
During the grand opening event, Walmart officials said the facility is well on its way to surpass its initial hiring goal of 1,000 employees and will soon employ more than 1,300 full-time associates.
The new import distribution center will store and sort imported goods that arrive through the Port of Charleston.
