Next week, the State of South Carolina’s strong relationships with Japanese political and industry leaders will be on full display as the 40th Annual Joint Meeting of the Southeast United States-Japan Association and the Japan-United States Southeast Association is taking place in Greenville, S.C. Although the conference is closed to the general public, its occurrence is significant for Team South Carolina as it will provide a unique opportunity to showcase our state to many domestic and international partners.
Aimed at promoting mutual ties of investment, trade education, tourism and friendly relations between Japan and the Southeastern United States, the theme of this year’s event is “Success through tradition, innovation and partnerships.” This seems very fitting as both Japan and the Southeastern United States are home to rich traditions and cutting-edge business activity. Moving forward, this unique combination and the mutual understanding and respect that it fosters will allow the partnerships between Japan and the Southeastern United States to thrive for decades to come.
