This week, hundreds of automotive industry leaders from around the region descended on downtown Greenville, S.C. for the 7th annual South Carolina Automotive Summit. The signature event of South Carolina Auto Week, the three-day conference provided a tremendous opportunity to discuss the future of one of South Carolina's most important industries.
Since last year's event, quite a lot transpired in the Palmetto State's automotive sector. BMW celebrated its 25th year in South Carolina, announcing a 1,000-job expansion and unveiling its new X3 model; and, Volvo Cars announced a new product line and office facility for its $1 billion Berkeley County operations. Moving forward, as we seek to further develop the state's robust automotive sector, continued collaboration and communication -- as was on full display throughout this week's event -- will be critical.
