Since 2011, Team South Carolina has recruited more than $33 billion in capital investment and 122,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate has fallen from 10.7 percent to 4.2 percent. And, we’ve experienced eight consecutive record years in total export sales. This success, although unprecedented, isn’t unexpected because we’ve worked together as a team to lay the foundation for this economic growth.
This week, our collaborative efforts took yet another step forward as we celebrated the groundbreaking of Camp Hall Commerce Park in Berkeley County. Already home to Volvo Cars, this park will help us attract new industry partners and expand South Carolina’s robust supply chain network. Moving forward, as we seek to sustain and build on the state’s recent economic growth, continued development of speculative sites and buildings will be critical. After all, companies locate where they feel they can be profitable and find success. Presenting them with a strong inventory of available real estate is a great way to convey Team South Carolina’s commitment to ensuring a welcoming business environment across the state.
