$1.33 million investment expected to create 20 new jobs
COLUMBIA, S.C. – PDM US Corp., a manufacturer of pre-insulated copper pipe, today announced that it is establishing a new production facility in York County. The $1.33 million investment is expected to generate 20 new jobs.

PDM US Corp. is establishing new operations in the former Samuel Strapping building in Rock Hill, located at 640 Cel River Rd. The company will produce pre-insulated copper pipe, and will serve as the company’s first U.S. manufacturing facility. The company expects the plant to be fully operational by June 1.

We celebrate PDM US Corp.’s decision to put down roots here by investing $1.33 million and creating 20 new jobs in Rock Hill. Announcements like this one show that South Carolina is the new ‘it’ state for business and that our economic development efforts are on the right track,” said Gov. Nikki Haley.
Since January 2011, South Carolina has recruited more than $9 billion in capital investment and more than 23,000 jobs in the manufacturing sector.
“Today’s announcement is another indication that manufacturers are seeing the benefits of setting up operations here in the Palmetto State. South Carolinians know how to make things, and make them well. PDM US’s decision to locate operations here boosts our reputation as a manufacturing state and brings new jobs that will have an impact in York County,” said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.
York County Council Chairman Dr. Britt Blackwell said, “We welcome PDM US to York County and appreciate their commitment to our area. Our central location along the U.S. Eastern Seaboard makes distribution of their innovative and unique products much easier. And the highway improvements provided by the Pennies for Progress program assures we remain competitive for distribution and logistics operations for years to come.”
