With an economic impact of $27 billion, the automotive industry is a major driver in the Palmetto State. To accelerate the advancement of this sector, the South Carolina Automotive Summit – which wraps up Thursday – brings together top minds in the industry each year.
The summit kicked off Tuesday with the Automotive B2B Supplier Matchmaker, hosted by SC Commerce. The event is an opportunity for statewide suppliers to build business relationships with major players in the auto industry.
More than 100 companies met with leading original equipment manufacturer (OEM)/Tier 1 companies including BMW, Honda of SC, JTEKT, Mercedes-Benz Vans, Mergon, Oshkosh Defense, Proterra, Schaeffler, Van Hool and Volvo Cars. The matchmaker included nearly 300 meetings among companies.
