The automotive industry has grown over several decades, establishing itself as one of South Carolina’s major economic drivers.
In 2023 alone, it accounted for $4.3 billion in announced capital investment — the state’s leading industry cluster, including the burgeoning electric vehicle (EV) and EV battery sub-sectors. To celebrate and promote this cornerstone industry, the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance is hosting its 13th Annual SC Automotive Summit in Greenville, S.C., Tuesday-Thursday, Feb. 13-15, 2024.

Day one focused on expanding South Carolina’s vast automotive network, connecting 11 original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier 1 companies with nearly 200 supplier companies during the SC Automotive B2B Supplier Matchmaker. In all, S.C. Commerce coordinated almost 500, one-on-one meetings to foster local business development and supplier growth. This event comes on the heels of a successful supplier event for Scout Motors, where more than 500 prospective suppliers registered for one-on-one meetings with the Midlands’ newest automotive OEM.
During the SC Automotive Summit, key decisionmakers, executives, managers and leaders representing more than 200 companies across all facets of South Carolina’s diverse automotive industry are uniting to discuss trends and topics facing the global automotive world.
