With a focus on FDI and promoting the benefits of doing business in South Carolina, S.C. Commerce representatives led a diverse state delegation at the 2024 SelectUSA Investment Summit June 23-26, 2024, in National Harbor, Maryland.

On Tuesday, June 25, a special FDI announcement was the focus of celebration at the South Carolina booth. Deputy Secretary of Commerce Ashely Teasdel, U.S. Ambassador to France Denise Bauer, Schneider Electric President of North American Operations Aamir Paul and Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Global Markets and Director General of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service Arun Venkataraman announced a substantial $23.8 million investment by Schneider Electric, growing the company’s presence in Richland and Oconee counties.
Headquartered in France, Schneider Electric is a global leader in energy management and automation, currently employing more than 1,200 South Carolinians. The company is also a proud SC NEXUS Tech Hub consortium member.
