As the South Carolina Fraunhofer USA Alliance (SCFUSA) celebrates its first year, the program is expanding to offer more opportunities for S.C. companies. The SCFUSA, a collaborative effort between the South Carolina Council on Competitiveness (The Council), South Carolina Department of Commerce and Fraunhofer USA, Inc., works to advance applied research in engineering and technology across the state with Fraunhofer USA Centers and S.C. research institutions.
Today, The Council hosted a webinar announcing that S.C. companies now have access to work with all Fraunhofer USA Centers. In the webinar, representatives from three of the centers – the Center for Coatings and Diamond Technologies, Center for Experimental Software Engineering and Center for Manufacturing Innovation – discussed the projects and innovations they are currently focused on, as well as what types of projects they aim to take on in the future and how companies can get connected. Suzanne Dickerson, SCFUSA director, moderated the panel.
The ultimate goal of the SCFUSA is to make South Carolina operations of all sizes more competitive, more successful and to have a statewide impact on growing companies, jobs and the economy.
