South Carolina has a long and successful track record of helping companies from around the world establish, relocate and expand into the U.S. and North American markets. With more than 1,200 operations of foreign-affiliated firms within the Palmetto State, it’s clear that South Carolina’s massive global footprint only continues to grow.
This week, Team South Carolina had the unique opportunity to strengthen international ties with the visit of Consul General of Korea in Atlanta Young-jun Kim. Consul General Kim met with Commerce Secretary Bobby Hitt and members of S.C. Commerce’s International Strategy and Trade division. The group discussed the importance of Korea-South Carolina trade and investment, as well as the future of this mutually beneficial relationship.
And, last week, South Carolina welcomed Consul General of Belgium in Atlanta Michel Gerebtzoff. Consul General Gerebtzoff visited Greenville and Columbia, and he met with Lt. Governor Pamela Evette, S.C. Commerce representatives, local leadership and partners.
Looking beyond the Palmetto State’s borders is critical to job creation and opportunities for South Carolinians. And, with strong relationships with international partners, S.C. is primed for global success.
