Generator enclosure manufacturer opening facility in Abbeville County
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Advanced Manufacturing & Power Systems, Inc. (AMPS), a firm that specializes in the manufacturing of high-quality generator enclosures, is establishing its first South Carolina operations in Abbeville County. The company is investing $2.3 million in the project, creating 48 new jobs in Abbeville, S.C. over the next five years.
Established in 1999 and headquartered in DeLand, FL, AMPS is a specialty severe power systems integrator, servicing the power generation industry. The company was the first, and is still only one of two, State of Florida-certified, high velocity hurricane zone (HVHZ)-rated manufacturers. The firm is owned by Pacific International, LLC, an affiliate of the Triple Five Group, which also owns and operates The Mall of America.**
In an effort to better serve its growing customer-base, AMPS has decided to establish its first South Carolina operations in Abbeville County. To house the new facility, the company is leasing space inside the Abbeville County Business Incubator at Lakelands Commerce Center, which is situated off of S.C. Highway 72 in Abbeville.
