In 2016, S.C. Commerce formed a partnership with the S.C. Biotechnology Industry Organization (SCBIO) to determine the footprint of South Carolina’s growing life sciences sector and develop a plan to advance that sector across the state.
At the time, Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt celebrated the new partnership, saying, “Already accounting for thousands of highly-skilled jobs in the Palmetto State, we know that life sciences has tremendous growth potential, and we’re excited to be partnering with SCBIO to help this sector continue to advance in South Carolina.”
Now, more than a year later – and following the release of an impressive economic impact study – SCBIO is hosting a three-day conference in Charleston, S.C. Taking place from October 24 – 26, SCBIO 2017 will provide biotech and pharma industry executives, government leaders, university presidents and other industry supporters with an opportunity to gather and discuss the future of this dynamic sector.
Early bird registration is now open, and space is limited. Attendees will enjoy three days of intensive networking, innovation updates, opportunity discovery, partnership making and strategic discussion with leaders from a broad spectrum of life sciences industries, including medical devices, bio manufacturing, drug discovery, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics and testing, biofuels and materials, agriculture and more.
