This week, South Carolina’s 2017 export sales totals were announced. After achieving an eighth consecutive record year, it’s clear that the state’s international trade footprint will only continue to grow, bringing new opportunities for businesses across South Carolina.
In an effort to support companies that would like to get involved in the state’s growing trade activity, the S.C. Department of Commerce offers the South Carolina Export Incentives Program. Now in its sixth year, the program enables S.C. Commerce to work more closely with companies as they navigate the export process and enter new markets. From counseling and training services to providing access to U.S. Commercial Service programs, the initiative is a great resource to both existing and potential exporters.
Reimbursing small and medium-sized business participation in S.C. Commerce trade missions, major trade exhibitions and international matchmaking, the program will help more than 50 businesses seize export opportunities this year, including involvement in upcoming trade missions to Canada and Asia, as well as the Farnborough International Air Show this summer.
