SC NEXUS Consortium Member Interest Form

Thank you for your interest in SC Nexus for Advanced Resilient Energy (SC NEXUS)

The SC Nexus for Advanced Resilient Energy (SC NEXUS) is a consortium of South Carolina’s leading public and private institutions seeking to build a world-class Tech Hub focused on advanced resilient energy. After successfully receiving Tech Hub designation from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), SC NEXUS has now received $45 million in federal funding for its projects. The Tech Hubs continued success relies on a strong consortium of South Carolina organizations.

More details on our background, objectives, and core members are below.

  • SC NEXUS Background

The ambition of The SC Nexus for Advanced Resilient Energy (SC NEXUS) is to create a globally leading hub driving innovation in core technologies that enable an end-to-end resilient, sustainable energy ecosystem across clean-electricity generation, distribution, and grid-scale storage. The Hub will leverage the region’s dynamic and growing manufacturing base, superior research capabilities, and demonstrated record of public-private collaboration to develop exportable electricity technologies alongside testing and deployment of those technologies, which will accelerate high-quality job growth for a diverse workforce, address the U.S.’ focus on climate and environmental responsibility, help to close infrastructure gaps in rural and distressed communities, and ensure the U.S. grows competitive and globally leading electric-power technologies and industries of the future. This effort is led by the South Carolina Department of Commerce and brings together more than 35 members, including public institutions (HBCUs, R1 universities, government agencies), private industry and the Savannah River National Lab.

A press release announcing SC NEXUS’ selection as Tech Hub Designee and our complete application to the EDA can be found here.
