BMW Marks 30+ Years in Upstate

For over three decades, BMW has given South Carolina plenty to celebrate and Friday, June 21, 2024 — just days before the company’s 32nd anniversary of its initial investment announcement in the state — the German automaker delivered again.

BMW’s first North American press shop, part of its $200 million investment announced in March 2022, will produce sheet metal parts for various vehicle models. During the grand opening celebration at the company’s Plant Spartanburg campus in Greer, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster and BMW Manufacturing President Dr. Robert Engelhorn celebrated the strong relationship between the state and company.
