The South Carolina Salute to Small Business is the Palmetto State’s annual National Small Business Week event. Now in its 13th year, the 2018 Salute will be held Wednesday, May 2 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in downtown Columbia.
Featuring a keynote address from U.S. Small Business Administration Administrator Linda McMahon, this year's event will also include a procurement opportunity matchmaker, exhibitor showcase, networking time and awards luncheon.
S.C. Commerce is collaborating with the S.C. Automotive Council to host an Automotive B2B Supplier Matchmaker event on February 28. Taking place in conjunction with the S.C. Automotive Summit, the fourth annual event provides an opportunity for suppliers to connect with original equipment manufacturers and tier one suppliers statewide.
This year, companies, like BMW, Bosch, Continental, Draexlmaier, JTEKT, Michelin and Volvo Cars, will pre-select from the list of pre-registrant suppliers with whom they wish to meet. One-on-one, 10-minute meetings will then take place.

This year's event will be held on Thursday, April 5th, 2018 at the TD Convention Center in Greenville, S.C., and will be packed with exciting programs, including:
Chartner NEX Films, SC Commerce and Richland County are collaborating to host a subcontractor and supplier outreach event on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Charter NEX Films, a blown film manufacturer, is building a new 140,000-square-foot facility in Richland County in the Carolina Pines industrial Park (Blythewood area). The company is looking for both subcontractors for construction, and suppliers for on-going operations.
Join Horne LLP for a Subcontractor Outreach event associated with housing rehabilitation for homes damaged during Hurricane Matthew in October 2016. Horne will be looking for subcontractors to help rehabilitate 1,350 homes in 24 South Carolina counties, with 800-1000 of those homes being in Marion and Horry Counties, South Carolina. The overall contract is for $52 million in construction work. Horne is very intersted in utilizing South Carolina subcontractors and suppliers.
The S.C. Aerospace Conference and Expo is designed to connect leaders from industry, academia and government to showcase the growing aerospace cluster in South Carolina. The event features a business and workforce development track, including a B2B matchmaking event, the ACE ‘17 Technical Symposium, an exhibit hall with company and student presentations and a variety of tours and workshops.
