COLUMBIA, S.C. – Governor Nikki Haley, state Sen. Paul Campbell, Berkeley County Supervisor Dan Davis, Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce President Elaine Morgan, Google’s Berkeley County Data Center Operations Manager Eric Wages and local business and community leaders participated in a groundbreaking ceremony announcing that Google will expand its operations at the Mt. Holly Commerce Park in Berkeley County. The additional $600 million investment at the data center site brings Google’s total investment to over $1.2 billion.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Siemens Industry Inc., a maker of mechanical and electrical drive equipment, today announced plans to establish a new plant in Greenville County.

According to Doug Keith, president of Siemens Drive Technologies Division, the new South Carolina geared motor facility will place the company and its products manufactured in South Carolina closer to machine builders and manufacturers in the Southeastern United States.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – SEW-Eurodrive Inc., a maker of  industrial gear motors and electronics, today announced that the company will expand its current operations in Spartanburg County. The $20 million investment is expected to generate 40 new jobs.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Mercom Corporation, a provider of network technology services, today announced that it will expand its existing operations in Georgetown County. The $1 million investment is expected to generate 30 new jobs.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Sensor Electronic Technology Inc., the world’s leading maker of ultraviolet light emitting diodes (UV LEDs), will expand its operations in Richland County. This phase of the company’s expansion plan, which includes retrofitting its existing facility plus the purchase of a new property, is expected to create more than 150 new jobs with over $20 million in capital investment.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – BorgWarner, a global automotive powertrain supplier, today announced plans to expand its current facility in Oconee County, which will generate 30 new jobs.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Benefitfocus, a leading healthcare and benefits technology provider, was joined today by South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and Charleston Mayor Joe Riley as the company unveiled a new Design and Engineering Building on its Daniel Island campus. The new 80,000-square-foot facility can accommodate 475 associates at capacity, adding to the company’s 68,000-square-foot corporate headquarters.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Avtec Inc., a communications technology company, today announced plans to expand to a new facility in Lexington County. The company will invest more than $6.1 million and is expected to generate 25 new jobs.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – AFL, a maker of fiber optic products and equipment, today announced that it will expand its existing operations in Spartanburg County. The $8.6 million investment is expected to generate 95 new jobs.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – aeSolutions, a supplier of performance-based process safety engineering and automation solutions for the petroleum, chemical and process manufacturing industries, today announced the consolidation of multiple Upstate facilities in a single corporate headquarters location in Greenville, S.C., investing upwards of $2 million and adding in excess of 40 new jobs in the process.
