State of South Carolina announces 2020 industry recruitment results

The South Carolina Department of Commerce today released its 2020 industry recruitment results. In total, the state won 126 economic development projects, accounting for $4 billion in capital investment and 11,147 new jobs.

"Team South Carolina continues to cultivate a diverse economy in all corners of our state," said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt. "To increase our recruitment to $4 billion in capital investment - particularly during an unprecedented year - takes a remarkable amount of collaboration and unwavering commitment from many partners across this state."

S.C. Commerce Office of Innovation announces grant awards

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Tie & Timber Technologies LLC (T3) today announced plans to establish a railroad tie manufacturing operation in Marion County. The company’s more than $6.9 million investment is projected to create 51 new jobs over the next five years.

Smithey Ironware expanding Charleston County operations

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Smithey Ironware Company, a designer and manufacturer of premium cast iron and carbon steel cookware, is expanding its operations in Charleston County. The more than $2 million investment is expected to create 22 new jobs.

High Wire Distilling Co. expanding operations in Charleston County

COLUMBIA, S.C. - High Wire Distilling Co., a producer of premium, handcrafted small batch spirits with an agricultural focus, today announced plans to expand its operations in Charleston County. The $3 million investment will create 45 jobs.
