Manufacturer investing $5.8 million and creating 50 new jobs
COLUMBIA, SC – Alfmeier Friedrichs & Rath (AFR), a manufacturer of automotive components, is expanding its Greenville County operations. The expansion is expected to bring $5.8 million of new capital investment and create approximately 50 new jobs.
Established in 1993, AFR is a developer and manufacturer of automotive components with a concentration on fuel management, vacuum support and seating comfort solutions. Featuring in-house plastic injection molding and custom assembly and test systems, the company employs more than 500 employees and utilizes 32 injection molding machines across three locations.
Located at 120 Elcon Drive in Greenville, SC, the company will be expanding their factory floor by 20,000 square feet and their office facility by approximately 10,000 square feet. The expansion is projected to be complete by the second quarter of 2017, and hiring for the new positions is ongoing--with an increase scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2017. The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved a $250,000 Set-Aside grant to Greenville County to assist with the costs of site improvements.
