$4.2 million investment to expand operations in South Carolina, creating an expected 105 new jobs
COLUMBIA, S.C. – A solutions based design and manufacturing company that delivers a diverse range of products is expanding its South Carolina operations with a new facility in Calhoun County. The Fitts Company, Inc. is investing $4.2 million to establish a new office and manufacturing facility in Gaston, S.C. The investment is expected to create 105 new jobs over five years.
Founded in 1998 in the Midlands, the Fitts Company offers a wide range of products including exterior and interior signage, surrounds, buildings and canopies for automated teller machines (ATMs), modular bank interiors, motor home coaches and other specialty items. Included on the Fitts Company’s client list are banking industry leaders Wells Fargo, Synovus, First Citizens, Capital One and BB&T along with medical leader the Mayo Clinic.
The new Calhoun County facility will be located in the I-26 Industrial Park in Gaston, S.C. Located on 17-acres of land, the 70,000-square-foot office and manufacturing facility is more than double the size of the company’s existing space in Lexington, S.C. and will allow it to meet growing demand for its products.
Construction of the facility expansion is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2016. Initial hiring for engineers/designers, installers, project managers and millwork journeymen will begin in February 2015 with the other positions being filled as sales dictate.
