Koyo Bearing to invest $10 million for Orangeburg expansion

Five-year investment commitment to support growth of automotive industry

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Koyo Bearing North America - Orangeburg is investing at least $10 million over a five-year period on new machinery and machinery upgrades at its South Carolina facility, which produces bearings for major automotive manufacturers. 

According to the company, the move ensures the company's competiveness in the automotive industry and preserves existing employment levels at the Orangeburg facility, which employs around 500 team members at present. 

The Koyo Orangeburg facility opened in 1975 and serves as a Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier of bearings for Toyota, Ford, Honda, General Motors and John Deere. Koyo is a subsidiary of JTEKT Corporation, a multi-billion corporation headquartered in Japan, which operates 13 manufacturing sites in North America.
