Manufacturing company investing $1.9 million in expansion project
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Prysmian Group North America, a worldwide leader in the production of electrical cables, is once again expanding its existing operations in Abbeville County. The expansion will result in an additional $1.9 million investment and the creation of five new positions.
Prysmian Group North America, a manufacturer of low, medium and high voltage electrical cables, is upgrading the equipment at its Abbeville County plant to meet increased customer demand. Opened in 1964, the company’s Abbeville facility, which is located on S.C. Highway 28, is one of 10 North American locations for the international manufacturer and is home to the only vertical continuous vulcanization line in North America. Over the last six years, Prysmian Group has invested approximately $20 million in improvements and expansions at the facility.
