May is National Small Business Month, punctuated by the SBA’s National Small Business Week (April 28-May 4, 2024), making it the perfect time to celebrate and elevate small businesses throughout the state. To do so, Governor Henry McMaster, alongside business and state leaders on the State House grounds, proclaimed Tuesday, April 30, 2024, as Small Business Day in South Carolina.

Within S.C. Commerce, full-time staff are available to assist South Carolina’s small businesses at every phase of their life cycle, helping make connections to the federal, regional, state and local resources that can help a company build or advance its legacy. Businesses can contact the S.C. Commerce small business team directly or visit the agency’s online resource hub for more information.

S.C. Commerce staff meet with the local small business community at the 2024 Small Business Day event.
