With companies from all over the world operating and thriving in South Carolina, it’s clear that the state boasts a large international footprint. That’s why, as we seek to ensure continued economic growth, maintaining and strengthening relationships with diplomatic and business leaders from around the globe is critical.
This week, Team South Carolina got to do just that as six Consuls General visited the state. Paramount to the mission of S.C. Commerce, these individuals are extremely important as they can assist in connecting our team with potential international trade and investment clients.
While in South Carolina, the six Consuls General visited with Governor Henry McMaster and Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt at the Governor’s Mansion. Among them were: Shane Stephens of Ireland; Andrew Staunton of the United Kingdom; Peter Zimmerli of Switzerland; Young-jun Kim of Korea; Jorge Archila of Guatemala; and Miguel Aleman of Peru. Guatemalan Vice-Consul Cristina España was also in attendance.
Moving forward, sustaining strong relationships with these individuals will remain paramount. By doing so, we’ll be able to further elevate South Carolina’s reputation as a top destination for international business.
