As the COVID-19 vaccine rollout continues within our borders, state health officials are looking ahead and seeking assistance from the business community regarding the vaccine allocation.
South Carolina is currently in Phase 1a of the state's vaccination plan, and vaccine supply is still less than demand. To ensure a smooth transition to the next steps - Phase 1b and then Phase 1c - the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) is seeking input from business owners, specifically the number of employees who meet the COVID-19 vaccine definition of frontline essential workers AND are planning to take the vaccine. To better assess the number of vaccines needed by rollout phase and also compile an estimated head count to give vaccine providers, DHEC requests businesses complete this short survey.
State health officials are still making decisions on the allocation of the limited vaccine supply, and this survey will help calculate the number of workers who are considered high risk for exposure and/or complications.
The business community's participation is vital in assisting DHEC with its COVID-19 vaccination plan. With everyone working together, we can help protect the health and wellness of South Carolinians.
