Recognizing National Community Development Month

The South Carolina Community Development Block Grant Program (S.C. CDBG) is part of a nationwide coalition of entities supporting the development of low- and moderate-income communities through grant funding. This month, that coalition is celebrating 50 years of the Community Development Block Grant Program, which is federally administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), with National Community Development Month.

Locally, the S.C. CDBG program administers grants to qualifying communities that otherwise do not receive federal funding from HUD. By fulfilling local projects to meet specific needs that directly improve quality of life, S.C. CDBG grants help make communities more attractive for continued economic development efforts.
