Reopening Guidance

Bowling Alley Guidelines

These following guidelines are specific to the reopening of bowling alleys while minimizing the risk of spreading COVID-19.

Guidelines for Athletic Fields and Resuming Youth Sports

The State of South Carolina recognizes the value of team sports as a form of recreation that provides positive impacts on both individual physical health and the social health of our communities. The guidelines were established with the intent to balance the physical and social benefits of team sports with the overall needs for public health and safety.

Guidelines for Reopening Bingo Halls

These guidelines are intended for application in non-health care related places of employment.

Guidelines for Reopening Attractions

These recommendations are intended to provide general operating guidelines for all types of attraction facilities, including but not limited to aquariums, zoos, museums, historic buildings and sites, water parks, amusement parks, live production theaters and movie theaters.

Guidelines for Day Camps

The Department of Social Services (DSS) and the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) have worked together to develop the following guidelines to assist day camp providers in reopening quickly and safely.

Reopening Guidance for Faith-Based Organizations

All organizations have to determine how best to minimize the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace as well as in their community.  In order to re-open and successfully remain open for business, everyone individually and collectively must actively participate in the core recommendations.

Hotel Guidelines

The guidelines detailed in this plan are driven by three major considerations: safety, gradual and phasing. Full opening of hotels will need to allow lead time for staff to be rehired and trained, the food supply chain to be fully and normally operational, safety measures to be implemented, including providing ample time for operators to get the necessary Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and do a deep re-clean and sanitization of the entire facility using the CDC-recommended guidelines during COVID-19 to keep staff and guests safe.

Public Swimming Pool Guidance

According to the CDC, the virus that causes COVID-19 cannot be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, spas, or water play areas. However, the opportunity for transmitting the virus does exist in surrounding areas. Swimming pools should comply with the following additional guidelines to further minimize the potential for transmission and spread of COVID-19 in and around pools:

Basic Operations for Manufacturers Guidance

This is a framework of guidance that South Carolina manufacturers can rely upon to operate safely and minimize the spread of COVID-19.

Fitness Facility Guidance

These reopening guidelines are intended for gyms and fitness facilities to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
