CeramTec to expand Laurens County manufacturing facility

COLUMBIA, S.C. - CeramTec North America Corporation (CTNA), a worldwide leader in advanced ceramics, is expanding its existing Laurens County facility. The expansion investment totals $13.2 million and is expected to generate 40 new jobs. 

CTNA's expansion includes construction of a clean room to manufacture tube core aerosol generators (TCAG), which will be used to deliver an antibiotic through inhalation for pneumonia patients.

CHOMARAT North America expanding Anderson County facility

COLUMBIA, S.C. - CHOMARAT North America, a manufacturer of reinforcement materials for the composite and building industries and subsidiary of the CHOMARAT Group, is expanding its current operations in Anderson County. The $10 million investment will bring 20 new jobs along with new equipment and additional manufacturing space.

Shaw to expand South Carolina carpet fiber plant

COLUMBIA, S.C.Shaw Industries, Inc. (Shaw) has announced it is investing at least $45 million in its Lexington County, S.C. carpet fiber plant for additional capacity for both nylon and polyester production. The investment will create more than 50 new jobs.

Mogul establishing first North American operations in the Upstate

COLUMBIA, S.C.Mogul, a privately-owned company that focuses on the production of and sale of nonwovens, is establishing its first North American operations – Mogul South Carolina Nonwovens Corporation. The company is investing $17.6 million in its new operations, creating 38 new jobs from beginning of operation.

COLUMBIA, S.C.US Building Innovations, Inc. (USBI), a company that specializes in the production of advanced coatings, is expanding its Upstate South Carolina operations with a new facility in Oconee County. The $1 million investment is expected to generate 31 new jobs in Seneca, S.C.

GKN Aerospace opening new Orangeburg County facility to produce Boeing inlet lip skins

COLUMBIA, S.C.GKN Aerospace announced today that it will open a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to produce inlet lip skins for the Boeing 737 MAX and 777X. The company is investing more than $20 million in the new facility, generating more than 75 new jobs in Orangeburg County.

COLUMBIA, S.C.Pantex International S.p.A., a hygiene materials producer primarily serving the global personal care market, is establishing its first U.S. operations – Pantex Americas, Inc. – in Greenville County. The $10.4 million investment is expected to create 45 new jobs in Simpsonville, S.C. over the next five years.

Oakwood Products, Inc. expanding Hampton County operations

COLUMBIA, S.C.Oakwood Products, Inc., a manufacturer of chemicals used in the pharmaceutical industry, is expanding its existing operations in Hampton County. The company’s $1 million investment is expected to result in 30 new jobs at its Estill, S.C. facility.

Established in 1992 and headquartered in West Columbia, S.C., Oakwood Products produces a wide range of organics, with a particular emphasis on fluorine and sulfur compounds. The company also provides custom synthesis services.
