Boeing commits to expand Charleston County operations
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Boeing (NYSE:BA) today announced it plans to expand its operations in Charleston County. The company plans to invest $1 billion in infrastructure upgrades at its existing site and create 500 new jobs over the next five years.

South Carolina’s dominant aerospace industry was well-represented at the 2024 Farnborough Airshow, one of the largest global aerospace and defense industry events. The state delegation, led by S.C. Commerce Secretary Harry M. Lightsey III, included economic development professionals, existing industry and aerospace suppliers, as well as research and strategic industry partners.
