Investment expected to create 40 new jobs
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Cargo Composites, a maker of air cargo containers, today announced the establishment of its new headquarters and assembly facility in Berkeley County. The $700,000 investment is expected to generate 40 new jobs.

We look forward to actively contributing to growth of the aerospace supply chain in South Carolina.”
Cargo Composites will locate its new operations in a leased facility at 1026 Legrand Blvd. in Berkeley County. Demand for the company’s products has been growing for both domestic and international locations. This location represents its first facility on the East Coast.

Cargo Composites’ containers are used by the world’s leading airlines to safely and securely transport cargo around the world. Cargo Composites’ patented composite material is made with a unique honeycomb core that optimizes both weight and strength, creating more durability and lower fuel costs to airlines.

The company plans to be fully operational by January 2012 with its first delivery scheduled for March 2012. Cargo Composites will ship its finished products around the world from its new 32,000-square-foot plant.
