Manufacturer of precision products investing $1.4 million to upgrade equipment in Spartanburg plant
COLUMBIA, S.C. – A company that develops and manufactures precision products for machines, equipment and vehicles as well as in aviation and aerospace applications is expanding its operations in Spartanburg County. Schaeffler Group USA is investing $1.4 million to upgrade its manufacturing facility in Spartanburg, S.C. The local upgrades are one part of a larger capital improvement program at Schaeffler facilities in three South Carolina counties, totaling $163.8 million in new investment and more than 440 new jobs.

Schaeffler currently operates their plant at 1298 New Cut Road in Spartanburg, S.C., specializing in the manufacturing of bearings, bearing components, and linear products. The investment in Schaeffler’s Spartanburg County plant will result in new equipment for the facility. This Spartanburg County upgrade is part of the Schaeffler Group’s effort to expand and increase productivity in its North American operations.
In total, the firm is investing $163.8 million to expand and upgrade three of its existing South Carolina facilities. In addition to the upgrades to the company’s Spartanburg County plant, operations in Cheraw and Fort Mill, S.C. will be expanded. Collectively, the investment is expected to create more than 440 new jobs in the Palmetto State.
