COLUMBIA, S.C. – December 22, 2011 – Climax Global Energy Inc. today announced plans to locate a new state-of-the-art plastics-to-oil recycling facility in Barnwell County. The $5 million investment is expected to generate 20 new jobs.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – October 6, 2011 – Continental Tire the Americas (CTA) today announced plans to build a new tire manufacturing plant in Sumter County to meet growing demand from both the retail level and automotive manufacturers. The $500 million investment is expected to generate 1,700 new jobs in South Carolina over the next 10 years.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – October 5, 2011 – Universal Trade Solutions Inc. (UTS), along with its affiliate Fraley & Schilling Inc. (F&S), today announced a new manufacturing, warehousing and distribution facility in the former Jacobs Applied Engineering Building in Orangeburg County. The $10 million investment is expected to generate 100 new jobs.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – September 30, 2011 – JBE Inc., a supplier to the automotive, aerospace, and lawn and garden industries, today announced the addition of at least 20 new jobs at its Darlington County facility as a result of a new contract secured with Pure Power Technologies in Columbia.  The company also announced that it has acquired an AS9100 certification.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – September 28, 2011 – Carbures LLC, a maker of carbon fiber composite structures, today announced plans to establish its first American facility at the South Carolina Technology & Aviation Center (SCTAC) in Greenville County. The $6.5 million investment is expected to generate at least 50 new jobs in the next five years.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – WG Plastics Technology Corporation, a manufacturer of plastics and injection molded assemblies, is establishing operations in South Carolina with a new facility in Abbeville County. The $2.7 million investment is expected to create 50 new jobs over the next five years.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Falcon Boats is establishing operations in Newberry County to manufacture a new line of sportfishing boats. The company purchased an existing building, located at 750 Wilson Road in Newberry, S.C., and plans to invest $1.5 million, creating 35 new jobs over the next five years.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Baxter Enterprises and Hi-Tech Mold & Engineering, companies owned by the Schulte family and full-service suppliers for the plastics industry, are establishing operations in Oconee County. The firms are investing $20.7 million in the project, creating 87 new jobs over the next five years.

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Essex Weld Solutions, an international manufacturer of automotive racking products, is establishing operations in Cherokee County with Essex Weld USA Inc. The development will bring a capital investment of $2.6 million to the Upstate and create 70 new jobs.
