COLUMBIA, S.C. – Carver Companies, a diversified group of manufacturing and construction companies, will be expanding its Charleston County operations. Located in North Charleston, S.C., the expansion is expected to bring $13 million of new capital investment and lead to the creation of 22 new jobs.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – January 4, 2011 – The South Carolina Department of Commerce, Charleston County and the Charleston Regional Development Alliance today announced that Odfjell Holdings (US) Inc. will establish new operations in Charleston County. The $37 million investment is expected to initially generate 12 new jobs over the next three years. The investment will also impact construction and support services employment.“We are excited about the opportunity to start new operations in North Charleston.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Progressive Packaging Inc., a full-service packaging solutions company based in Simpsonville, is opening a new distribution center in Hampton County to accommodate its growing consumer base. The $500,000 investment will create five new jobs in the area in the first 12 months of service.

COLUMBIA, S.C. - McKesson Medical-Surgical Inc., a leading distributor of medical supplies, plans to establish a new distribution facility in York County.

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Copac Global Packaging, a leading provider of packaging services to domestic and global customers, today announced the completion of its expansion at its Spartanburg County facility. The $14.8 million expansion is expected to create 32 new jobs. 

Copac has constructed an additional 50,000 square feet of manufacturing space at its facility to increase productivity and add capacity. The larger facility also will allow the company to consolidate operations that are currently performed in separate buildings into a single, more efficient workflow. 

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Birdsong Corporation, a Virginia-based company that processes peanuts for marketing and distribution worldwide, will locate a new facility in Darlington County.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Aran Packaging, a leading company in the liquid packaging industry, is establishing its first United States operations in Greenville County. The company is investing $5.2 million in the facility, creating an expected 63 new jobs in Greer, S.C. over the next five years.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Total Quality Logistics (TQL), a third-party logistics provider, is establishing logistics and sales operations in Richland County. The company is investing $565,000 in the facility, creating an expected 100 new jobs over the next five years.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Gerber Childrenswear LLC, a leading marketer of children’s apparel, is constructing a new distribution center in Berkeley County. The $33 million investment is expected to create 45 new jobs over the next five years.
