A&R Bulk-Pak, Inc. establishing Lowcountry operations

COLUMBIA, S.C. – A&R Bulk-Pak, Inc., a contract packaging company specializing in the packaging and distribution of plastics for overseas export, is establishing operations in Berkeley County. In an effort to better serve its expanding customer base and handle the coming plastics production surge from the Gulf Coast, the 30-year company is investing in the construction of a $7.5 million state-of-the-art packaging and distribution facility, which will create 25 new jobs in Moncks Corner, S.C.

Belk Inc. expanding capacity of Union County e-commerce distribution center

COLUMBIA, S.C. – December 11, 2013 – Department store retailer Belk, Inc. has announced that it is expanding its e-commerce distribution and fulfillment center operations in Union County, S.C. The company spent $9 million to upfit additional space at the 500,000-square-foot Jonesville facility this year and plans to invest another $32 million next year to further increase the center’s capacity. Belk expects to add approximately 170 new jobs by the end of 2015 in addition to the 124 jobs announced last year.

Amazon expanding Lexington County operations

COLUMBIA, S.C.Amazon, a global leader in e-commerce, today announced plans to hire 500 additional full-time employees at the company’s Lexington County fulfillment center.

Since opening in 2012, the Amazon fulfillment center in West Columbia, S.C. has brought more than 1,500 full-time jobs to Lexington County. Amazon is adding the new positions to meet growing customer demand. Employees will pick, pack and ship customer orders.
